Welcome to my blog

Hi there and welcome to my blog.

Let me tell you what this blog will be about.

In the past i always used Microsoft Windows an OS on all my computers, laptops and netbooks.
I once started with Windows 3.11 and worked my way up to Windows 7.
Never really had to complain about Windows, except for the occasional BSOD, system crashes and other problems everybody faces with computers.
You will never hear me say that Linux cant crash, but for the short time i am using it now i must say it runs better than Windows and looks much more stable.

In the past i already experimented with Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Kubuntu, SUSE,... but i was to lazy to learn how to work with it so i always came back to the "trusted" environment of Windows.
Windows is easy, for instance if you want to install a program you just download it, double click it and let the program install itself.
That is where Linux is harder.

Don't get me wrong, you don't have to be a scientist to use Linux, once you master the basics and you are willing to do a little searching for some things then Linux is as good as Windows (or even better :p )
It is a fact, for Linux you will have to use commands to run some things, but all the commands you need can be found using a search-engine like Google.
Like somebody said to me: Linux is for people who want to know why their computer works.

Anyway, i started to use Linux again about a week ago.
I wanted something else than Windows and this time i was willing to learn how to work with it.
Like i said, i already had used a couple of distro's but i wanted something i never worked with before.
So i stumbled upon Fedora 15.
First i installed it as dual boot, i still had Windows Vista on the computer because i didn't know if Fedora was going to be something for me.
After some fiddling around in Fedora 15 i really started to like it allot, so i reformatted the entire computer and only installed Fedora 15, bye bye Windows.
Of course i had (and still have) some minor problems on the Fedora system, but all in all it works great and most of the problems i had are solved already.

And that, that is what this blog is about.
In this blog i am going to discuss the problems i faced and how i solved them.
Also if i come across some fun things to do, or handy stuff to use in Fedora 15 or change in settings, i will tell you why and how.

Experienced Fedora users will probably don't need the stuff i will write down, although i hope some experienced users will comment on the postings to correct errors or give simpler ways to solve the problems.
This blog aims at the beginning Fedora 15 user, that if they encounter the same problems as i did that they will find out easy how to solve them.

When i found the solution to something with the help of one of the many Linux and Fedora forums i will always place the source, i don't want to get the credits for stuff i didn't solve by myself.

I hope you will find this blog interesting, and if you want to react just leave your comments on the blog, i will be happy to read them.

Regards
Ditzy
